Correction: “Was Excessive Force Really Necessary?”

In my recent post on the death of Kelly Thomas at the hands of six Fullerton police officers I inadvertently stated that the Fullerton Police Chief had reinstated five of the six officers to active duty. The information, gathered from the Orange County Register website was incorrect. As of July 29, only one of the officers was placed on administrative leave while the other five were allowed to return to active duty but were not allowed to work the streets.

Since that time with all the media coverage and national attention, all six officers involved in the incident were placed on paid, administrative leave where they remain until a decision is reached in the case.
