“My God is Alive and Well, Sorry About Yours”

Quotation-Carl-Sagan-god-religion-Meetville-Quotes-46009For those of you out there who may doubt the existence of God in this crazy world of ours, let me simply say that you are profoundly mistaken. You argue like so many others before you that God is only a myth, Jesus Christ never existed and the Bible is nothing more than a collection of historically inaccurate stories that have no basis in fact. You claim that we are not the product of divine creation but merely the result of some phenomenal, scientific event that just sort of  accidentally happened. But you’re wrong! The existence of God is so obvious, just take a long loving look around! The Lord makes His existence known to us in mysterious ways and there is absolutely no doubt that He is alive and intervening in our lives each and every day, all you have to do is believe. Regretfully if you choose not to believe, your doubts and misconceptions of God’s existence may cost you your life-everlasting.

I can certainly understand your confusion. It is hard to comprehend why God would allow all the pain, suffering, war, famine, killing, and other atrocities that occur around us everyday. How could a loving God do such a thing? But because bad things happen is not proof that there is no God. So why wouldn’t He intercede on our behave and make things right you ask? Hey, at some time or other we all wonder why God allows bad things to happen to good people conversely why does He allows good things to happen to bad people? It happens, go figure. Suffice it to say that we simply don’t know why and only after our earthly death and transition to everlasting life will we at long last understand.

Okay, so if there is a God and there is, He knows all things right and could have foreseen the future and knew what a mess man would make of things so why didn’t He simply pull the plug on mankind and stop things before they happened? I’m sure He could have, but instead He gave us the opportunity to live. Why? Because He loves us and was pleased with our creation. (“God saw all that he had made, and it was good.” Genesis) In spite of our shortcomings God saw our potential for greatness and true meaning and so here we are. It’s sort of like married couples contemplating having children. Certainly this world is not a safe place to raise a child and there is a good chance that they will experience pain, suffering and disappointment but you go on to have children anyway because you know there’s potential for love and extreme joy. God feels the same way about us.

images (1)Belief in God is all about choice. Our God given free-will allows us to draw our own conclusions and right or wrong make our own decision. I can look at the wonders of creation, the miracle of birth, the sunrise, sunset, the starry skies, the beauty of a single Dandelion and the smiling faces of my grandchildren and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a God. Some individuals cannot. They turn a blind eye on His magnificence explain it all away as science. They deny what is right before their eyes. But they are wrong,  even Mr. Science himself, Stephen Hawkins believes that our existence goes beyond science, “The odds against a universe like ours emerging out of something like the Big Bang are enormous. I think there are clearly religious implications.” Religious implication indeed! God is alive and well and overseeing our lives here on Earth!  It’s as obvious as the nose on your face. When you believe you not only see what He has created for us, You feel it within and it feels heavenly.  The choice is yours.

Just Saying…

  1. Paul McCully says:

People say if there is a God why does God allow all the bad things to happen on this earth. Two words answer this, FREE WILL. In order for God to be loved a choice must be made. If He forced us to love Him it wouldn’t be love. Therefore people can choose to love what is bad if they want, and unfortunately many do. Evil forces itself on us everyday and takes away choice, we become slaves of sin, we become addicts of something, bad habits anyone? On the other hand God just waits, in the hope that one day we will choose the only real choice we can really make which is to give up our will and let go and let God take over.
